The Harefield Academy

The Harefield Academy

Nearest underground station: Uxbridge

will replace the present John Penrose School. The new Academy will be an 11 to 18 school with accommodation for 750 students aged 11 to 15 and a further 250 post-16 students.

The School is set in the village of Harefield on the edge of the Green Belt and is adjacent to the commencement of agricultural land.

Harefield is on the northwest edge of the London Borough of Hillingdon , close to South Hertfordshire and South Buckinghamshire. Harefield is isolated by the transport network and has retained many of the features of a small rural village.

The Department for Education and Skills (DfES), a number of Directors of Watford Football Club and the London Borough of Hillingdon have come together to seek to bring about a significant improvement in educational and health standards.

The project for the creation of the Harefield Academy is being taken forward as part of the Government's Academies initiative.
